What it is
This is a paper trading contest: real market prices, virtual money. Orders are never sent to a real broker; both losses and profits are virtual.
The goal is to test a strategy and risk management safely: placing stop-losses, choosing position size, deciding how much of the account to risk per trade. Reviewing results in a trading journal helps.
How the ranking works
- Account value = free cash + unsettled cash + cash reserved for open orders + open positions at the last price.
- Return % = (account value − starting balance) ÷ starting balance × 100.
- At least one trade — closed or open — is needed to be ranked. Participants without a trade are unranked.
- On equal returns, more closed trades ranks higher, then whoever joined earlier.
- When the month ends the leaderboard is frozen — final places don't change.
Rules
- The contest follows the US (New York, ET) calendar month: from 00:00 ET on the 1st to 00:00 ET on the 1st of the next month.
- Joining is open until the end of day 25 of the month (ET). This prevents lucky last-minute results.
- Starting balance is $10,000, with no reset during the month.
- Any listed US stock can be traded.
- Daily loss limit — 5% of the day's starting account value. If breached, positions are closed and trading is locked until the next day (ET midnight).
- Maximum drawdown — 15% of the starting balance. If breached, you are disqualified: positions are closed and no trading until the month ends.
- At most 25% of account value in any single stock.
- Risk limits are checked during the regular session only (pre/post-market prices are thin).
- Commission works like Interactive Brokers: $0.005 per share, $1 minimum, at most 1% of the trade value — on both buys and sells.

- Do I need real money?
- No. Every participant gets a $10,000 virtual balance. Orders are never sent to a real broker — profits and losses are virtual.
- How do I take part?
- Sign up for free, open the «Contest» section in the dashboard and press «Join». Optionally pick a nickname for the leaderboard. Joining is open until day 25 of each month.
- Does it affect my regular demo account?
- No. A separate demo account is opened for the contest each month — your regular demo account and its history are unchanged.
- How is the leaderboard built?
- By percentage growth of account value versus the starting balance: free cash, reserved cash and open positions at the last price. One trade is enough to be ranked.
- What happens if my account drops a lot?
- If it drops more than 5% in a day, positions are closed and trading reopens tomorrow. If it drops more than 15% from the starting balance, you are disqualified for the month — similar to prop-firm risk rules.
- Can I join mid-month?
- Yes, until day 25 of the month. Everyone starts with the same $10,000, but you'll have fewer days to trade.
- How is my name shown?
- Your chosen nickname, or a shortened name like «John D.». Phone numbers are never shown. You can change the nickname anytime in the dashboard.
- Are there prizes?
- The site does not promise cash prizes: the contest is a safe way to practise strategy and risk management. Winners are shown on the final leaderboard and on this page, and you can share a result card.
