Full calendar in the dashboard

The dashboard adds any date range (up to 92 days), every dividend payer, plus earnings, economic events, IPO, split and options expiration calendars. The halal portfolio lives there too — it works out how much of your dividends to purify.

Signing up is free. If you already have an account, "Open in dashboard" takes you straight to the calendar.

How to use this calendar

What the ex-dividend date is

Shares bought on or after the ex-dividend date don't receive that dividend. With T+1 settlement in the US, you need to buy at least one trading day before the ex-dividend date (by the previous day's close at the latest).

The price drops by the dividend

On the ex-dividend date the stock usually opens lower by roughly the dividend amount — it isn't free money, part of your ownership turns into cash. That's why buying just before the ex-date and selling right after rarely works as hoped.

For the halal investor

Even a halal stock may earn a small part of its income from interest or impermissible activity. That share of the dividend is "purified" — given to charity. Each stock's public page shows its halal badge and impermissible-income share; the halal portfolio in the dashboard works out the amount to purify for you.

Frequently asked questions

By when do I need to buy to get the dividend?
By the close of the trading day before the ex-dividend date. If you buy on the ex-date or later, this dividend goes to the previous owner.
What's the difference between ex-dividend, record and payment dates?
The record date is when the company records its shareholders; with T+1 settlement it is usually the same day as the ex-dividend date. The payment date is when the cash reaches your account, usually a few weeks after the ex-date.
How is the yield calculated?
Annual dividends divided by the current share price. A $100 stock paying $0.50 a quarter yields 2% a year. A very high yield often means the price has fallen sharply or the dividend is at risk of a cut.
How much US dividend tax applies from Uzbekistan?
The US withholds tax at source on dividends paid to non-residents; the rate depends on the W-8BEN form and the tax treaty between the two countries. Ask your broker for the exact rate — Limitup does not give tax advice.
